Faithful Invited to View Film Together

Faithful invited to view one of the final showings of "For Greater Glory" at Saginaw 12 Movie Theater

SAGINAW — Faithful from across the Catholic Diocese of Saginaw are invited to attend one of the final viewings of For Greater Glory tomorrow, June 13 at 3:15p.m., or 6:35 p.m. at Saginaw 12, 3250 Kabobel, in Saginaw. Attendees will be offered slightly discounted prices on some concession stand items.

The motion picture dramatization, For Greater Glory is based on the true story of the Cristiada and tells the epic tale of Mexico’s heroic struggle for religious freedom during the Cristero War of the 1920s. The film stars Andy Garcia, Peter O’Toole and Eva Longoria. It depicts the difficult circumstances in which Catholics of that time lived — and died for — their faith. It is a message that has particular resonance today for people of faith.

Despite a limited release, For Greater Glory debuted in the box office top ten earlier this month. This Thursday, June 14 will be the last day the film will be shown locally. Members of the faith community are being invited to view this film together, and support its message of religious freedom.
