Legislative Advocacy

Our Catholic Legislative Advocacy Network currently has about 80 members from across the Catholic Diocese of Saginaw. Monthly alerts are sent out from our office on a variety of issues. We encourage parishes to participate in legislative call-ins and postcard campaigns sponsored by the Michigan Catholic Conference and the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops.

Tom Conklin and Terri Grierson represent the diocese on the MCC Social Policy Committee. The committee works to support and promote advocacy priorities that are approved annually by Board of Directors. Some of this year's major issues include religious freedom, human life, education, health care, economic justice and regulatory policy, and children and families.
