The Bishop Murphy award is for "lifetime achievement," presented annually to a person who, through the example of their life as a disciple of Jesus Christ, continually fulfills the mandate of the Gospel through word and deed.

The 2013 award will honor a person committed to the social mission of the Church, promoting the life and dignity of the human person through service and outreach.
