The Most Rev. Joseph R. Cistone encourages churches across the Catholic Diocese of Saginaw to ring their bells 26 times at 9:30 a.m., Friday, December 21.

Churches across the country are participating in a grassroots movement to mark the one-week anniversary of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting.

Earlier this week, Connecticut Gov. Dannel Malloy asked that his state observe a moment of silence in remembrance of the children and adults killed in the school shooting. He also called upon houses of worship to ring their bells 26 times for the victims.

Churches across the country are committing to responding to the call as best they can.
