BRIDGEPORT — Youth across the community are invited to join the Most Rev. Joseph R. Cistone, Bishop of Saginaw, for an evening of prayer, food and fun that includes a special performance by the Detroit Urban Parish Youth Choir.
“It’s a great opportunity for youth from across the diocese to gather with their Bishop, hear and sing praise and worship style music and spend time with other youth in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament ” said Mark Graveline, diocesan Director of Youth Ministry.
“Feed the Fire” begins at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, November 6 at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary parish. There is no cost to attend, but a freewill offering will be collected. Profits will be donated to Catholic Relief Services for those affected by drought in Somalia and eastern Africa.
The evening will begin with the celebration of Mass followed by dinner, music and adoration. Bishop Cistone will join Rev. John Sarge, Pastor of Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary parish in Bridgeport, in welcoming youth from across the diocese.
The Diocese of Saginaw is home to 108,601 Catholics, worshiping in 105 parish communities, across Arenac, Bay, Clare, Gladwin, Gratiot, Huron, Isabella, Midland, Saginaw, Sanilac and Tuscola counties.
