Joseph R.  Cistone, Bishop of Saginaw, at the Cathedral of Mary of the Assumption in Saginaw on Saturday, March 16. Bishop Cistone celebrated a Mass of thanksgiving upon the election of a new pope.

In his homily message, Bishop Cistone shared with those gathered that he expects Pope Francis will keep before his flock both love of God and love of neighbor, especially the poor.

Bishop Cistone offered prayers for Pope Francis and his ministry and encouraged the faithful to make their own love of the Lord evident in all they say and in all they do.
