Learn How to Share the Catholic Faith With Others at the New Evangelization Summit- Streaming Live to Saginaw’s Center for Ministry

WHAT: New Evangelization Summit

WHEN: 9:15 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. on Saturday, April 25.

WHERE: Diocesan Center For Ministry, 5802 Weiss St., Saginaw

Catholics from around the diocese will gather for the first New Evangelization Summit at the diocesan Center for Ministry. The New Evangelization Summit is a conference which will bring together speakers who are leaders in the New Evangelization to provide inspiration, encouragement, training, practical wisdom and resources on how Catholics can effectively evangelize. All Catholics will benefit immensely from this powerful opportunity to be further equipped in the fundamental mission of the Church.

“The New Evangelization isn't just about what we know. It's also about being inspired -- being set on fire -- to share Jesus Christ with others, in every corner of our lives,” said Peg McEvoy, coordinator of faith formation for the Diocese of Saginaw. “The New Evangelization Summit will help all of us to become even more assured answering the call to be disciples and to share our faith."

World-class Catholic speakers on the New Evangelization who will speak include Father Michael Gaitley, Ralph Martin, Patrick Coffin and Jo Ellen Gregus, to name a few. While the Summit is being hosted in Ottawa on April 24 and 25, only the Saturday (April 25) portion will be live-streamed to Saginaw. Only 19 other sites across North America were selected to host the Summit.

"There is nothing complicated about evangelization, but for many people, it seems scary and intimidating,” said Michael Dopp, founder of the New Evangelization Summit. “This holds back Catholics from fully realizing their baptismal potential to be missionaries.  The conference will effectively address these needs through offering the premier gathering of Catholic speakers in North America."

The simulcasting of the event will provide a way for approximately 5000 Catholics from across the continent to be united in one goal – to be formed as evangelists and be part of a network of Catholic evangelists.

Pre-registration is required and is available at www.newevangelization.ca. The cost is $45 and includes lunch. Those with further questions may email Peg McEvoy at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
