WHAT: Lenten Retreat "Living a Life of Love and Holiness"
WHEN: 7:30 p.m. on Friday, March 31 (registration and social begin at 6 p.m.) Retreat
ends at 11 a.m. on Sunday, April 2

Join Sister Sarah Burdick, SGL for a Lenten retreat which will include meditation on Sacred Scripture and prayerful silence. Sister Burdick will be drawing on the wisdom of saints both ancient and modern to explore what it means to live a life of deep union with the Lord. Sister Sarah is a member of the Servants of God's Love, and has an M.A. in Theology from Sacred Heart Major Seminary, Detroit; she currently serves as the head of the theology department at Father Gabriel Richard High School in Ann Arbor. The cost of the retreat is $165 for a semi-private room or $180 for a private room and includes four meals and two receptions. Cost is $95 for commuters, which includes lunch and dinner on Saturday.

WHAT: Catholic Women’s Fellowship with Father Josè Maria Cabrera
WHEN: 6 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. on Wednesday, April 5

Meeting the first Wednesday of every month, women from around the diocese are invited to gather at the Center for Ministry for prayer, faith formation, discussion, and fellowship. The talk during this meeting will be given by Father Josè Maria Cabrera, pastor of All Saints Parish, Bay City. Father Josè’s pictorial “pilgrimage” will include a discussion of Jesus’ crucifixion and resurrection using photos from the Holy Land and Scripture. WHAT: Holy Hour with Bishop Cistone in Albee
WHEN: 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 6
WHERE: St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Parish, St. Mary Church, 5661 Fergus Rd., Albee
Since January 2012, the Most Rev. Joseph R. Cistone, Bishop of Saginaw, has traveled to different churches throughout the diocese to lead Holy Hours before the Blessed Sacrament. The faithful are invited to join him in praying for the guidance of the Holy Spirit as we strive to do God’s will in our local Church.
WHAT: Chrism Mass with Bishop Cistone
WHEN: 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 11
WHERE: St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 5376 State St., Saginaw
The Most Rev. Joseph R. Cistone, Bishop of Saginaw, will celebrate the Chrism Mass along with representatives from all of the parishes of the Diocese of Saginaw. The holy oils which will be used for the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, Holy Orders and Anointing of the Sick will be blessed by Bishop Cistone and distributed to representatives of the parish communities within the Diocese of Saginaw. Priests of the diocese will concelebrate the Mass with Bishop Cistone and renew their priestly vows.


WHAT: Monthly Diocesan Men’s Faith-Sharing Night: Bishop Barron’s Series on the Saints, The Pivotal Players- St. Catherine of Siena
WHEN: 7 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. on Wednesday, April 19
WHERE: Diocesan Center For Ministry, 5802 Weiss St., Saginaw
Dr. Dan Osborn, Director of the Center for Ministry, will offer men of the diocese an opportunity to view Bishop Barron’s new DVD series on the saints, The Pivotal Players. There will also be time for faith-sharing in small groups after viewing the DVD. Please note: this series is not sequential; if unable to come on a particular Wednesday evening, all are welcome to attend on other evenings. These monthly meetings take place on the 3rd Wednesday of each month through April, 2017. No prior registration is needed.

WHAT: “Easter through the Eyes of the Holy Land” Workshop with Father Josè Maria Cabrera
WHEN: 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 22
WHERE: Diocesan Center For Ministry, 5802 Weiss St., Saginaw
Father Josè Maria Cabrera, pastor of All Saints Parish, Bay City, will give a workshop about Easter through the lens of Holy Land archaeology and Father Josè’s experiences and photos from his time in the Holy Land. There will also be time for prayer and scripture. The cost to attend the event is $5. WHAT: Mission Mass With Bishop Cistone
WHEN: 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 23
WHERE: St. Andrew Church, 612 N. Michigan Ave., Saginaw
The Most Rev. Joseph R. Cistone, Bishop of Saginaw, will celebrate a special Mission Mass for all individuals and groups who are participating in mission work this year. A mission cross and blessing will be given to young people and adults who will be serving locally, in other regions of the United States and also around the world. All are welcome.


WHAT: Bishop’s Ball
WHERE: Horizons Conference Center at 6200 State St., Saginaw
WHEN: 5:30 p.m. Reception, 7 p.m. Dinner, Friday, April 28 (All are Invited)
The Bishop's Ball celebrates the diverse ministries within the Diocese of Saginaw that continue the evangelizing mission of Jesus Christ. The evening will feature Bishop Cistone’s presentation of the Bishop Murphy Award to Leona Jones and Patricia Murdock. The Bishop Murphy award is given to a person(s) who, through the example of their life as a disciple of Jesus Christ, continually fulfills the mandate of the Gospel through word and deed. The ball also includes a silent auction, art auction, dinner and dancing. Parish and community leaders, parishioners and friends from the eleven counties served by the Diocese of Saginaw are encouraged to join in fellowship and fun during this annual event. WHAT: Exploration of Apocalyptic Literature with Father Bill Taylor
WHEN: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 29

Join Father Bill Taylor for an exploration of Scriptural texts that are in the Apocalyptic genre. Father Taylor is a senior priest of the Diocese of Saginaw and a long-time instructor in the diocesan Lay Ministry Formation Program. Cost is $35 and includes lunch. The Most Rev. Joseph R. Cistone, Bishop of Saginaw, will celebrate the Mystagogia Mass with all the new members of the Catholic Church from throughout the Diocese of Saginaw.

WHAT: Eighth Grade Celebration Mass
WHEN: 10:30 a.m. on Friday, May 5
WHERE: St. Agnes Church, 300 Johnson St., Freeland
All eighth grade students in the Diocese of Saginaw are invited to attend Mass with the Most Rev. Joseph R. Cistone, Bishop of Saginaw, to celebrate their transition into high school.

WHAT: Marriage Enrichment Workshop
WHEN: 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Saturday May 6
WHERE: Diocesan Center for Ministry, 5802 Weiss Street, Saginaw
Would you like to “kick-up” your marriage relationship, improve on communication and conflict resolution skills and better understand each other’s unique personality? The Diocese of Saginaw is offering a skills based workshop for married couples to help them strengthen their bonds of marriage. It will be facilitated by Tom Conklin, director of Catholic Family Services and Linda Milco, coordinator of Marriage and Family Ministry for the Diocese of Saginaw. Cost is $85 and includes an online assessment (taken before the workshop), lunch and materials. Deadline to register is April 17.
