More than 350 gathered for Mass of Remembrance

Monday, 12 September 2011 10:23

Mass_of_Remembrance_WebSAGINAW —Members of the faith community across the Diocese of Saginaw commemorated the tenth anniversary of 9/11 by remembering and praying for the victims and their families.
The Most Rev. Joseph R. Cistone, Bishop of Saginaw, celebrated the Mass of Remembrance at 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, September 11.

Immediately before Mass, representatives from the Emergency Response profession came forward and lit individual candles as part of an “Act of Remembrance.”
A moment of silence was observed for the victims and their families and the somber tolling of a single bell.

Area emergency responders were invited to attend the Mass in full uniform, so that those gathered could recognize their service to community and country.
