SAGINAW — This weekend, November 12 and 13, in many parishes across the Diocese of Saginaw, parishioners will be encouraged to download a new app that will help them stay connected with their parish and the Church every day. The Diocese of Saginaw has teamed up with myParish App to provide this new and exciting technology which will help enhance parish communication and outreach. This powerful tool is being made available to all parishes free of charge.

Some of the unique features of myParish App include: the ability to send and receive parish and diocesan messages; view the parish bulletin; keep up with Catholic news and events; listen to homilies; set reminders for Mass and confession times; access extensive prayer guides and resources; and, follow the daily Mass readings . . . all in one convenient place.

“We are continually looking for new ways to help our people stay connected with the Church,” said the Most Rev. Joseph R. Cistone, Bishop of Saginaw. “I hope the introduction of myParish App will foster frequent communication with our people on a daily basis, and create opportunities for them to more deeply engage with their parish and one another.”

This weekend, in participating parishes, parishioners will learn how to download the app to their smartphone, and begin using it prior to the start of Advent. This allows them to take full advantage of all the unique resources and offerings immediately available to them during the season of prayer and preparation. Some parishes will be launching the app in weeks to come, and some are already using it. The myParish App is the most downloaded parish app on the market today.
