“The Second Half of Life” and “Angels and Dominions” To Be Discussed at Upcoming Events

SAGINAW — The following upcoming events will be held at the Diocese of Saginaw's Center For Ministry:

WHAT: The Second Half of Life- Discovering How God is at the Heart of Our Deepest Desires During Life’s Normal Transitions
WHEN: 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 21
WHERE: Diocese of Saginaw’s Center for Ministry, 5802 Weiss St., Saginaw

 

This retreat will explore transitions which occur during the second half of life. The positive and negative effects of middle age, empty nesting, retirement and death and much more will be explored. The cost is $45 (includes morning snack and lunch). More information is available here

WHAT: Angels and Dominions: The New Testament, Rome, and the Early Church
WHEN: 6:30 p.m.–8:30 p.m. on August 27, 2013
WHERE: Diocese of Saginaw’s Center for Ministry, 5802 Weiss St., Saginaw

Father Jose Maria Cabrera will discuss how Christianity brought the gospel to the ancient center of the world according to the pages of the Bible. Attendees are invited to “involve yourself in this first evangelization that was absolutely necessary for the Catholic character (universality) of the Christian Church.” The cost is $10. The Catholic Diocese of Saginaw was established by Pope Pius XI on February 26, 1938. Today, it includes 6,955 square miles across Arenac, Bay, Clare, Gladwin, Gratiot, Huron, Isabella, Midland, Sanilac, Saginaw and Tuscola counties.
