Pilgrimage to National Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows and Vocations Camp Among Upcoming Faith Offerings

SAGINAW — Below are some of the upcoming events that will take place across the Diocese of Saginaw:

WHAT: Natural Family Planning Class
WHEN: 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 24
WHERE: Mt. St. Joseph Church 605 S. Franklin St., St. Louis
A natural family planning class will be taught by John and Julia Hoving of the Couple to Couple League (CCL). CCL has a three-fold approach to teaching Natural Family Planning (NFP): 1-The full Sympto-Thermal Method of NFP; 2-The moral underpinnings for the NFP decision; 3-The promotion of exclusive and continued breastfeeding and its effect on fertility. WHAT: Seminar of Hope: How to Pray for Your Sons, Daughters, and Loved Ones
WHEN: Two parts: Friday, June 27, 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., & Saturday, June 28, 9:30 a.m.to 4 p.m.
WHERE: Our Lady of Grace Educational Center, 1965 Michigan Ave., Alma, Mich.
Promotional materials for this event ask: “Have your loved ones stopped practicing their faith? How can you pray effectively for them?” Vernon Robertson, recipient of the Pro Ecclesia medal by Pope Benedict XVI, has led this seminar for more than 20 years throughout Europe, the U.S., and Canada. WHAT: Informational Meeting Regarding a Pilgrimage to Our Lady of the Snows in Belleville, Ill. from Oct.21 to Oct. 24 2014
WHEN: 7 p.m. on June 29.
WHERE: Diocesan Center For Ministry, 5802 Weiss St., Saginaw
The Diocese of Saginaw Cursillo Movement will sponsor a Pilgrimage to take place Tuesday, Oct. 21 through Friday, Oct. 24, 2014. There will be an informational meeting at 7 p.m. on Sunday, June 29, 2014 at the Center For Ministry, 5802 Weiss Rd. Saginaw. More information about this pilgrimage is available by contacting Sandra Burch at (989) 781-4333 between 9 a.m. and 8 p.m. Burch will lead the pilgrimage. WHAT: Mass and Rosary in Memory of Rev. Wolfgang Streichhardt
WHEN: Tuesday, July 8
WHERE: Elsie, Mich. and Bannister, Mich.

Prayers will be offered for the soul of Rev. Wolfgang Streichardt in commemoration of the first anniversary of his death. The rosary will be prayed at 6:30 p.m. at Fr. Wolf's graveside at Ford Cemetery, in Elsie, Mich. The cemetery is at the intersection of Mason Rd. and County Line Rd. in Elsie. Mass will be celebrated at 7 p.m. at St. Cyril Church, 517 E. Main St., Bannister. Following Mass, there will be a reception (those attending should bring a dish to share). More information: (989) 799-2460 ext. 2.

 

WHAT: Family Vocations Camp with the Sisters of Our Mother of Divine Grace
WHEN: 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 23, with optional overnight stay at the camp ground
WHERE: CYO Girls' Campground 1564 N. Lakeshore Road, Port Sanilac.

Attendees are responsible for transportation to and from the camp. The Sisters of Our Mother of Divine Grace in conjunction with Ave Maria Parish are offering a day of recreation, prayer, and learning. More information is available at (810) 622-9904 x 3.

WHAT: St. Mary’s Cathedral High School All-Class Reunion
WHEN: Mass at 4 p.m. on Aug. 9 (reception will take place after Mass)
WHERE: Cathedral of Mary of the Assumption, 615 Hoyt Ave., Saginaw. Reception located at 6200 State St., Saginaw

The all-class reunion will take place at Horizons Conference Center immediately after Mass at the Cathedral with the Most Rev. Joseph R. Cistone, Bishop of Saginaw. WHAT: The Parables of Jesus from a Semitic Perspective with Rev. Jose Maria Cabrera
WHEN: 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 18,
WHERE: Diocesan Center For Ministry, 5802 Weiss St., Saginaw
Fr. Jose will discuss parables of the New Testament within the context of Jewish culture at the time of Jesus and will also explain the rhetorical techniques of the Gospel writers. WHAT: Natural Family Planning Class (Family of the Americas Foundation Ovulation Method created by Dr. John Billings)
