“Winter Getaway” and Women’s Day of Recollection Among Upcoming Faith Offerings

SAGINAW — Below are some of the upcoming events that will take place across the Diocese of Saginaw:

WHAT: Holy Hour with Bishop Cistone in Linwood
WHEN: 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 2
WHERE: Prince of Peace Parish, St. Anne Church, 315 W. Center St., Linwood
Since January 2012, the Most Rev. Joseph R. Cistone, Bishop of Saginaw, has led a Holy Hour each month in parishes across the diocese. Bishop Cistone initiated the Holy Hours to prayerfully support the work of Planning Tomorrow’s Parishes, a grassroots planning process that aims to enhance the vibrancy of future parish life.

WHAT: March For Life Registration Deadline is Dec. 5
WHEN: March takes place from Jan. 21 to 24, 2015
WHERE: Washington, D.C.
A group will travel by bus from Saginaw to Washington, D.C. to raise awareness of the 56 million babies who have been aborted since the Supreme Court’s 1973 Roe v. Wade decision legalizing abortion. The Most Rev. Joseph R. Cistone, Bishop of Saginaw, will be travelling with the group. The registration deadline is Friday, Dec. 5, 2014. Registration forms are online at www.saginaw.org. The cost is $250. The group will celebrate Mass on the morning of Jan. 21 before departing for Washington, D.C. The Mass will take place at 8 a.m. at Holy Spirit Church at 1035 N. WHAT: Learn And Experience St. Teresa Of Avila's Interior Castle- St. Elizabeth of Hungary Parish, Reese
WHEN: 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Dec. 6
WHERE: St. Elizabeth of Hungary Parish Center, 12835 E. Washington Rd., Reese

WHAT: Women’s Day of Recollection with Jenny Klement
WHEN: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 13
WHERE: Diocesan Center For Ministry, 5802 Weiss St., Saginaw
“Life has its exhilarating moments, but it can also seem so ordinary: routine tasks at work . . . washing dishes and folding laundry at home. Even praying over and over for the same family members can begin to feel like a chore! Join musician Jenny Klement for a special day of reflection and renewal. Jenny’s mission is to inspire, affirm and empower women to embrace the God-given beauty and dignity of their womanhood.” Cost is $35 (includes lunch). WHEN: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 24
WHERE: Diocesan Center For Ministry, 5802 Weiss St., Saginaw
“Escape the winter blues without the cost of an airline ticket! Using St. Ignatius’ style of imaginative prayer, we will ‘journey’ to the Holy Land, encountering Jesus in the scriptural accounts of his visits to the Sea of Galilee.” Cost is $35. WHAT: Mid-Winter Catechist Enrichment Day
WHEN: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 31
WHERE: Diocesan Center For Ministry, 5802 Weiss St., Saginaw
Catechists, parish catechetical leaders (DRE’s/CRE’s, Youth Ministers, RCIA Coordinators, etc.), and educators will gather for a day of enrichment with a wide variety of break-out sessions to choose from. Nancy Bird from RCL Benziger will be the keynote speaker. Cost is $25 (includes lunch). WHAT: Catholic Women’s Fellowship Meets Now through May
WHEN: 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. First Wednesday of every month, October 2014 through May 2015
WHERE: Diocesan Center For Ministry, 5802 Weiss St., Saginaw
The Catholic Women’s Fellowship meets at the diocesan Center for Ministry in Saginaw from October 2014 through May 2015. The group invites women to be “renewed, filled, and restored. Part of the ‘genius of woman’ is our unique sensitivity to the things of God (Blessed John Paul II). Whether we are busy moms, wives or single women, we need quiet times of intimacy with our Lord, community and opportunities to go deeper in our faith. Please join us for prayer and adoration, a spiritual talk, fellowship, and a chance to make new friends.” The women’s fellowship website can be found at womensfellowship.org.

WHAT: New Young Adult Group Meeting Twice Each Month
WHEN: Meets at 7 p.m. on the first and third Tuesday of the month
WHERE: St. Stanislaus School Building (red-colored brick building), 1503 Kosciuszko Ave., Bay City
This new group, called St. Joseph the Worker Young Adults Ministries, offers an opportunity to grow closer to Christ and build friendships with fellow young adults (ages 18-35). Meetings include games, fellowship, bible studies, discussions, prayer, and food. All young adults are welcome throughout the area.
