Tribunal Secretary

The Catholic Diocese of Saginaw is accepting applications for Tribunal Secretary. The secretary coordinates and facilitates the office operations of the Tribunal in collaboration with the Judicial Vicar and other members of the Tribunal including holding and executing the office of Notary for the Catholic Diocese of Saginaw.

Responsibilities of the Tribunal Secretary include, but are not limited to:

  • Establishes and maintains office and/or individual case files. This includes maintaining computer and physical copies of Tribunal records.
  • Organizes and assists with regularized office procedures as required.
  • Gathers information; compiles and organizes records and reports; handles correspondence with parties involved with individual cases.
  • Monitors the progress of individual cases as directed by the Supervisor.
  • Serves as an Ecclesiastical Notary.
  • Assists other Tribunal personnel as requested.


Job Description


  • Knowledge normally acquired through a high school education with course work in computers.
  • Additional related knowledge and skills acquired through a two year Associate Degree program in a related field is preferred.
  • Several years of related and progressively more expansive experience in word processing, typing, filing, etc.
  • Familiarity with personal computers and the ability or aptitude to learn and work with a variety of computer software programs.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Experience with the preparation and publication of technical reports.
  • Knowledge of the Roman Catholic Church.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.

  • Earned a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science Degree
