You can do something important this summer!
Join other Catholic high school youth - learn about and fight poverty, and reach out to the poor of Saginaw.
Teams will work together each day at a house in the city and within an outreach organization. Home repairs depend on the condition of the house and on what we can accomplish in one week. Such projects could include putting up drywall, painting, limited construction and other general repairs.

NCYC
National Catholic Youth Conference
The National Catholic Youth Conference is an exciting, biennial three-day experience of prayer, community, and empowerment for Catholic teenagers and their adult chaperones. The schedule includes keynote addresses, concurrent and workshop sessions addressing a wide variety of topics. There are also opportunities for liturgy, reconciliation, prayer and worship, recreation and special activities such as concerts, exhibits, and the interactive thematic park.
This past November the diocese took 75 young people to this conference. Over 23,000 young people from all over the country attended. It always leaves an impression on me that the young Catholic Church is alive and strong in faith of Jesus Christ. We created lasting memories with the talks we heard and the people people we met. During our time there, we were encouraged to act upon the works of mercy. Together we made cookies for the area prisons, sewed dresses for girls in Haiti, collected 24,000 lbs. of food the the St. Vincent de Paul Society, wrote Christmas cards for deployed troops, collected over 1,200 books for area libraries, knitted scarves, made blankets, donated over $7,000 for water purifiers in Haiti and over $200,000 in scholarship money for more youth to attend this conference in the future.
Another thing to note is all the general sessions and certain parent session were streamed live over the internet. By clicking this link, you can go back and view all these sessions again. At one point over 90 countries, including the Vatican and China, were watching this conference live. They estimated another 23,000 people were watching us for these few days.
