High School Assistant Principal/Academic Advisor

Sacred Heart Academy is a DK-12 grade school of approximately 460 students.

Sacred Heart Academy, located in Mt. Pleasant Michigan, is seeking an assistant principal/academic advisor for the 2021-2022 school year. Catechetical certification and participation in the VIRTUS program will be required of anyone who is hired. 

The assistant principal, in a leadership capacity, supports the principal and shares the responsibility for carrying out the educational mission of Sacred Heart Academy.  The principal and assistant principal work together to ensure that the ministry of the Church is being taught, which includes the best spiritual, intellectual, physical, and emotional development for all students.  The assistant principal enforces the guidelines and rules in the Sacred Heart Academy Student-Parent Handbook, the Diocese of Saginaw Employee Handbook/SHA  Employee Handbook, and the school board policies.  Upon the principals’ absence, the assistant principal assumes the position principal.

The assistant principal, as the academic advisor, assists with the following:
college applications, college representative visits, scholarships, non-public school service plans, detention, 4th Friday count reports, grades, honors programs, and NCAA records.  In addition, the academic advisor creates the master class schedule for 7th-12th grade, coordinates all standardized testing, and manages transcript requests.

Qualifications: Interested applicants must be a practicing Catholic, have a Master's degree in school administration or school counseling, and must have a minimum of three year's experience in school leadership or school counseling.
