A message of thanks from Matthew Gembrowski

To the faithful of the Diocese of Saginaw,

Thank you so much for being a part of my journey leading up to ordination to the transitional diaconate. Your participation reminds me that my vocation is not meant for me, but is to be shared with all of you, God’s Holy People.

I look forward to Friday's celebrations, and I ask you to continue to assist me by your prayers. Pray that I may become the saint God created me to be, and a true servant – a true diakonos – for all, especially for the poor, the marginalized, and the outcast. God bless you all!

Matthew says several things have surprised him during his seminary experiences, but the most significant so far has been the “depth and beauty of prayer!”

In his words, “You’d think that you’d run out of things to speak with the Lord about, but, it’s been the main instrument by which He’s helped me to grow ever deeper in a personal relationship with Him. I encourage everyone: give some time to the Lord!”
