Tammie Hunt, Life-long parishioner of St. Gabriel Parish to join Diocese as Chief of Staff to the Office of the Bishop

Tammie Hunt, a life-long parishioner of St. Gabriel Parish in Auburn, has accepted the position of Chief of Staff to the Office of the Bishop.

"I am very happy to welcome Tammie Hunt to the Chancery staff," said Bishop Robert Gruss. "She brings with her a wealth of knowledge and experience and I believe that Tammie will be a great asset in carrying forward the mission of Jesus Christ throughout our Diocese. She is a woman of great faith, having a zeal and love for the Lord.”

Tammie has 34 years of experience with The Dow Chemical Company as an administrative leader, her most recent position being in Human Resource Benefits Administration.  She also has decades of volunteer experience in parish ministry including Extraordinary Ministry of Holy Communion, sponsoring youth and adults in RCIA, and teaching parish faith formation for families presenting children for Baptism.

Tammie holds a Bachelor of General Business and Management degree from Saginaw Valley State University.

In her position, Tammie will serve as a member of the Bishop's cabinet and provide logistical leadership as directed by the Bishop to support his chief roles of teaching, sanctifying and governing the faithful.

“I am excited to join the Diocese of Saginaw team and graciously accept this calling to serve and share in the love and message of Jesus Christ and to live my faith in a more holistic way with my family and the professional and parish communities for which I belong,” said Tammie.

Tammie will also have primary oversight for administrative functions related to the external and community affairs of the Diocese. Tammie begins her new role on July 1, 2021.
