Thank You Bishop Gruss for Sharing the Love of Jesus Christ with Us!

On Sunday, July 26, we celebrate the one year anniversary of Bishop Gruss' Installation as the seventh Bishop of Saginaw.

In his first homily message as Bishop of Saginaw, Bishop Gruss shared, “My heart is seeing this time, this moment in the history of this diocese  … as what I hope is a new advent for all of us.”

“What is advent?” he asked. “It’s a time of hopeful expectation. I truly believe this is what the Lord wants for all of us. He wants us to live in this springtime of hopeful expectation.”

A Prayer from Bishop Gruss
But my dear friends, my prayer for you as I kneel before the Father, is this: that “he may grant you in accord with the riches of his glory to be strengthened with power through his Spirit, and that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, rooted and grounded in love, may know the love of Christ that surpasses all knowledge, so that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.”*

And I will continue to pray for you. And I ask a favor of you. Please pray for me so that I can be the bishop for you that Jesus calls me to be.

*Ephesians 3:14-19

Bishop Gruss shared the above prayer as part of his homily at the Installation Mass on July 26, 2019.
July 29 marks the ninth anniversary of Bishop Gruss' ordination as a Bishop. Please know of Bishop Gruss' continued prayers for you and his appreciation for your prayers as our local Church continues to share the Good News of Jesus Christ.
