SHA logoWelcome to Sacred Heart Academy!  We are a pre kindergarten through twelfth grade Catholic school located in Mt. Pleasant Michigan and we are committed to the mission of Jesus Christ.  Our focus is on developing the whole child in mind, body, and spirit, so that each child will fulfill God’s purpose.

We have been a Catholic school since 1889 and are very proud of our Catholic heritage, our strong academics, our family atmosphere, our diversity in culture, economics, and beliefs, and our proven results.  We welcome all faiths at Sacred Heart Academy.  Our students excel both in and out of the classroom.  The faculty at Sacred Heart is committed to doing what is best for all of our students and they are dedicated to the individual success of each student.

Our students attend weekly mass and special prayer services throughout the school year.  Each student also participates in a Catholic religion class each day.  We are proud of our 1:1 Chrome book initiative in grades 7 through 12 and our state-of-the-art science lab.  These were both provided through the very generous support of our donors.  We offer latchkey services to our students in pre kindergarten through sixth grade.

If you have any questions, would like more information, or would like to set up an appointment with our director of admissions, please contact us at 989-772-1457.  Come and see what makes Sacred Heart Academy special!
Yours Truly,
Mary Kay Yonker, Principal

Sacred Heart Academy is a Catholic school committed to teaching the mission of Jesus Christ while providing a balanced curriculum, modeling moral values, and maintaining high expectations for behavior. As a Catholic Kinder-Prep through 12th grade Catholic school, we have a faith community to support high academic standards, and incredible parent support, which is key to our success. With our staff, students, and families, we celebrate our faith, share the Gospel message, and provide a variety of opportunities for our students, taking into account the individual needs of each child. Students participate in daily prayer, frequently assist in community outreach initiatives, and attend weekly Masses, while also fulfilling a graduation requirement of performing 100 community service hours. Sacred Heart Academy prepares students to thrive in an ever-changing world, with an emphasis on community involvement and service to others.

At the very heart of the SHA community you will find an experienced, caring team of mission-driven Catholic educators. Their dedication and commitment to excellence have established a legacy of success in Catholic Education since 1889. SHA faculty participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with the latest research and best practices in teaching trends and techniques. Committed to Christ and dedicated to each student’s academic, physical, emotional and spiritual growth, they teach both in class and by example. Small class sizes enable teachers to give students plenty of personal attention. Working in partnership with their fellow faculty, staff and parents, they take the time to get to know and support each child. These mentoring relationships provide an invaluable continuum of communication and care that helps students feel secure, understood and supported, and last well beyond graduation.

45% of high school students dual enroll in Central Michigan University and Mid Michigan College. One hundred percent of our students graduate and upon graduation, nearly 100% attend institutions of higher learning.
