Safe Environment Training

We work with parishes and schools to schedule training sessions. The Diocese of Saginaw promotes awareness of the signs of child sexual abuse, the means by which offenders commit abuse, and steps to prevent child sexual abuse. Safe Environment training is required for all employees, and for volunteers who have regular or frequent contact with minors.  All individuals are encouraged to receive Safe Environment training, even if they do not volunteer with children and youth in parishes and schools.

You can register for training and update your account by going to the homepage at and clicking on “Update My Account” on the left side of the page.
Effective July 2019, all employees and those volunteers of the Diocese who have regular contact with minors must be re-trained every 3 years. The first re-training must occur in a live, facilitator-led training, in which a portion of the presentation will be dedicated to reporting of child abuse.  Every other training within each 3-year time frame can be completed on-line in a program entitled, Keeping the Promise Alive Refresher Program.
