The group enjoyed a day of fun and faith including, kayaking, canoeing, community service, Mass and more.</p> <p>"We are inspired by Saint John Paul II's example of ministering to young people simply by being with them," said Mark Graveline, coordinator of Youth Ministry for the Diocese of Saginaw. "Our local parishes are united in their concern for the youth. All of the youth who joined us yesterday came from varying backgrounds. One thing we all hold in common is our friendships built upon our Lord, Jesus Christ. This is the foundation we are building upon together."</p> <p>Yesterday's gathering was part of an ongoing partnership with the Archdiocese of Detroit. Earlier this year, a group from the Catholic Diocese of Saginaw visited Detroit for the Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service. They worked hand in hand with teens from the Archdiocese of Detroit as part of a continuing effort to foster opportunities for encounter among the youth.
