Msgr. James A. Suchocki died on Thursday, October 22, 2015. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 26, 2015 at St. John Paul II Parish - St. Josaphat Church site. The Most Rev. Steven Raica, Bishop of Gaylord, will preside at his funeral Mass and the Rev. Robert H. Byrne will preach the homily. Msgr. Suchocki served the Diocese of Saginaw, Diocese of Gaylord and the Archdiocese of Miami. He was born on May 1, 1936 in Saginaw, Mich., and is the son of the late Alex and Florence (Kruska) Suchocki. He graduated from Ss. Peter & Paul High School, St. Mary College, Orchard Lake and North American College in Rome. He was ordained on December 19, 1962. During Msgr. Suchocki's ministry, he was appointed assistant pastor at the Cathedral of Mary of the Assumption in Saginaw. When the Diocese of Gaylord and Saginaw were realigned, Msgr. Suchocki remained in the Diocese of Gaylord.
