The Most Rev. Joseph R. Cistone, Bishop of Saginaw, celebrated Mass and Rite of Candidacy for Holy Orders for Matthew Federico at St. Agnes Parish in Freeland on Thursday, August 6.
Matt has completed his second year of pre-theology at Mundelein Seminary in Mundelein, Ill., and since early May has been assisting the Rev. Bob DeLand at St. Agnes Parish in Freeland. Nearly 200 people from the parish community, as well as Matt's family and members of the diocesan staff attended the Mass.
In a few weeks, Matt will begin major seminary studies at Mundelein Seminary. Please keep Matt and all the seminarians of the diocese in your prayers as they discern a priestly vocation.
