Memorial Day Mass with Bishop Cistone Honors the Fallen

The Most Rev. Joseph R. Cistone, Bishop of Saginaw, celebrated Mass in memory of those who have served in the armed forces on Memorial Day, May 25, at St. Patrick Cemetery in Bay City. During his homily, he explained that Memorial Day began as "Decoration Day" for fallen Civil War soldiers and has since expanded to include military men and women from all wars. Bishop Cistone also asked the faithful to remember those who gave their lives on the battlefield or during peacetime or were injured during their service to protect our freedom.
