On Tuesday morning at the Food Pantry at Ss. Peter and Paul in Saginaw, volunteers from St. Dominic Parish prepared and distributed 117 food baskets to those in need. The baskets included a turkey and all the necessary items to prepare a complete Thanksgiving dinner.

"This annual project is a great opportunity and tradition for members of our parish community and community at large to come together and give thanks for all we have been given," said St. Dominic Parish volunteer Amy Bartels Roe.

Food baskets were distributed to the Commission on Aging for the elderly, Mustard Seed Shelter for women and children, and families and individuals in need of assistance. In addition, $3,000 in gift cards also was distributed.

The food was supplied and packaged by parishioners of St. Dominic Parish, while local businesses also made donations.
