The Office of the Chancellor is responsible for record-keeping for the Catholic Diocese of Saginaw. The Office consults with professional advisers in order to address legal and canonical matters. The Office maintains canonical and civil law records, and the archives. The Chancellor coordinates with colleagues in order to fulfill these responsibilities.
In addition, the Chancellor serves as the Bishop’s Delegate for Safe Environment, with responsibility to supervise the Office of Child and Youth Protection and to oversee all aspects of the Policy for the Protection of Children, Young People, and Vulnerable Adults, including education and prevention, implementation of the Code of Conduct for Personnel Working with Children, Young People, and Vulnerable Adults, criminal background checks, outreach to victims, and communication with the diocesan Review Board.
